Data Use Policy

Atlas Co., Ltd., (hereinafter referred to as "Atlas") receives a variety of different forms of personal information on users (hereinafter referred to as the "Users") who use Confit Submission and Confit Editing services (hereinafter referred to as "the Services"). Atlas shall appropriately handle personal information in compliance with the Personal Information Protection Policy. This policy is subject to change. Provided, however, that if we change this policy to require User agreement as stipulated by a law or regulation, this policy after such change shall apply only to Users who have employed the prescribed method of Atlas to agree to the change. 1.Information we receive and purposes of use

1.1. Information that the Services will receive

  1. Profile information

    When the User registers or updates the Services, or when an organizer registers the User, Atlas will receive the User’s information as stated below.
    Acquired information: Email address, name, name of the organization to which the User belongs, and other items and information designated by the organizer.

  2. Participation registration and subject registration information

    When the User registers or updates participation registration information or subject registration information in order to participate in an academic conference, an exhibition, or another type of event, Atlas will receive the information stated below.
    Acquired information: name, affiliation name, and other items and information designated by the organizer.

1.2. Handling of information that the Services receive

  1. Atlas will use the received information within the scope necessary to accomplish the purposes of acquisition stated below. Excluding the scope for which agreement has been obtained from the User or as allowed under applicable laws, Atlas will not handle the received information beyond the scope of the purposes of use.
    1. For investigation of inquiries made about the Services, replies, and to provide support as necessary
    2. For the provision, maintenance, protection, improvement, and development of the Services
    3. For the creation of statistics with regard to the use of the Services (Provided, however, that Users cannot be identified.)
    4. For security and the prevention of unauthorized use of the Services

The Services include many links to external websites; however, be advised that Atlas will not bear liability for the handling of personal information on the linked websites. Atlas highly recommends that Users learn about the privacy policies on the linked sites before visiting or accessing such sites.

3.About the use of Cookies

When the User accesses an Atlas Service or an individual website, all or some of the cookies below will be set for that site.

3.1. Provision of basic functions

  1. Cookies are used for the purpose of providing the basic functions for website use, such as maintenance of the login state and the displayed language on the screen.
