Terms of Service
Confit Submission and Confit Editing (hereinafter referred to as the “Services”) are provided by Atlas Co. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Atlas”) in support of the operation of academic conferences, exhibitions, and other events (hereinafter referred to as “Events”).
In order to use the Services, Users must consent to these Terms of Service (hereinafter referred to as the “TOS”).
At the time one of the Services is provided, Atlas will deemed that the use of the Services means that the User has agreed to all of the provisions stated in the TOS. The TOS are subject to change.

1: Definition and Registration of Users
- The term “User” of the Services shall refer to a person who has submitted registration based on the TOS.
- The term “Registered User” shall refer to a person who provided the necessary information and submitted the form for registration and then received approval by Atlas, or a User for whom an exhibition organizer has conducted User registration for the Services.
Registered Users can use the Services within the different scope that Atlas or the organizer has set for each Registered User.
- A person who wants to use the Services can agree to comply with the TOS, use Atlas’s stipulated method to provide the specific information stipulated by Atlas (hereinafter referred to as “registration information”), and thereby apply to Atlas for registration for use of the Services.
- The User shall personally bear liability for the accuracy of all User registration information.
- The User can change the registration information at any time.
2: Precautions for Use
- The User shall, at the User’s own liability, manage the email address and password that are necessary for use.
Even if an email address or password is stolen, lost, wrongfully used, or used by a third party without permission, Atlas shall not bear any liability for the relevant or subsequent damage.
- Packet communication fees may arise for a computer or mobile phone in association with the use of the Services, and those communication fees will be the personal responsibility of the User.
- If some management functions depend on a third-party system, such as a member management system, the Services may become unavailable because of the third-party system’s service suspension or interruption, a change of specifications, or another reason. Use of the Services is dependent upon consent to the fact that Atlas will not bear any guarantees or liability for any damage that may arise as a result of such unavailability or changes. Atlas also does not provide any guarantees concerning third-party systems.
3: Account Deletion
If the User wants to delete the account for the Services, Atlas will delete the account information after notifying the event organizer and/or organizing supplier.
If the event organizer and/or organizing supplier takes exception to the deletion of the account, the matter shall be resolved based on discussions between the event organizer and/or organizing supplier and the User, and Atlas shall follow the result of that discussion.
4: Personal Information
- Atlas shall appropriately handle personal information based on our Personal Information Protection Policy.
- Atlas will not disclose any personal information without the User’s consent. Provided, however, that personal information may be disclosed in the cases below:
- When Atlas will consign all or a portion of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary for accomplishment of the purposes of use
- When Atlas reasonably judges that it is necessary to disclose personal information in accordance with laws and ordinances
- When such disclosure of personal information is necessary to protect a person’s life, body, or property and when Atlas judges that it is difficult to obtain the person’s consent
- When such disclosure is specially necessary to improve public health or promote the sound growth of children and when Atlas judges that it is difficult to obtain the person’s consent
- When it is necessary to cooperate with a national organization, a local government, or a party entrusted by a national organization or a local government for clerical work as prescribed by law or regulation and when obtaining the person’s consent is likely to impede the execution of the relevant clerical work
- When the Service provider changes as a result of a merger or another reason, and when Atlas judges that it is necessary to transfer personal information in order to continue the Services
5: Copyrights and Other Intellectual Property Rights
- The intellectual property rights to the programs, photographs, and other components of the Services belong to the organizers, organizing suppliers, session planners, or exhibitors.
Editorial rights related to this site’s layout and design belong to Atlas. The User can access such information only if such use is for personal purposes.
- The User shall represent and warrant to Atlas that the User has the lawful right to personally submit or otherwise share the submitted information and that the submitted information does not infringe any third party’s rights.
- The User consents to the fact that the organizers, organizing suppliers, session planners, or exhibitors of events have the right to edit the information submitted by the User and to decide which information will be accepted for publication.
- The User shall submit information after agreeing and consenting to the regulations stipulated by the organizers, organizing suppliers, session planners, or exhibitors of events concerning the attribution of copyrights and other intellectual property rights and the exercise of the moral rights of an author for the User’s submitted information.
- Atlas will not bear any liability for problems concerning regulations and for the handling of the copyrights and other intellectual property rights with regard to the User’s submitted information.
If a problem arises with an organizer, an organizing supplier, a session planner, an exhibitor, another User, or another third party concerning the copyrights or other intellectual property rights for that submitted data, the User shall resolve the problem at the User’s own liability and expense.
6: Prohibited Matters
When the User uses the Services, Atlas prohibits the User’s actions that fall under, or that may fall under, the prohibited matters stated below:
- Violations of the TOS or a law or regulation
- Acts against public order and morals
- Actions that will lead to or recommend/encourage criminal actions
- Defamation of Atlas, another user, or a third party, or actions that cause disadvantages to such parties
- Any infringement of the copyrights or other intellectual property rights of Atlas or a third party
- Any infringement of the property or privacy of Atlas or a third party
- False registration of information entered for the use of the Services, including User registration procedures
- Misuse of email addresses or passwords
- Letting one’s own or another registered User’s ID/password be used by a third party by loan, transfer, name change, or purchase/sale
- Pretending to be another party
- Attacking the Services through a wrongful action, or actions of deliberately placing a load on the Service system
- Reverse engineering or other analysis of software or another system provided by Atlas
- Wrongful actions that deliberately affect the operation of the Services
- Actions that can produce financial interests
- Advertisements, publicity, or solicitations of third parties without Atlas’s permission
- Other actions that are inappropriate under socially accepted conventions
- Other actions that Atlas reasonably judges, based on reasonable grounds, to be inappropriate for the User of the Services
7: Suspension/Stoppage of the Services
- In the event of any of the conditions listed below, Atlas may suspend or interrupt all or any portion of the Services without notifying Registered Users in advance:
- In the event inspection or maintenance work for a computer or system related to the Services will be conducted regularly or in an emergency
- In the event a computer or a communication line has been stopped because of an accident
- In the event operation of the Services is impossible because of a fire, power outage, or natural disaster
- In the event a problem, interruption or suspension of the Service, suspension of linking to the Services, or a specification change arises for an external linked Service
- In the event Atlas has judged that suspension or interruption of the Services is necessary
- Atlas can end provision of the Services based on Atlas’s circumstances.
- Atlas will not bear any liability for any damage that may arise for the User because of measures that Atlas implements based on this article.
8: Disclaimer
Atlas shall not bear liability to provide compensation for damage incurred by the User because of or in relation to the use of the Services, excluding cases in which there is intention or gross negligence by Atlas.
9: Damage Compensation
If the User violates the TOS, the said User shall provide compensation for the damage that arises for Atlas.
10: Registration Cancellation
If the registered User meets any of the conditions listed below, Atlas can, without notice or demand in advance, delete the submitted information, temporarily suspend the use of the Service, cancel the registration of the Registered User, or terminate the Service use agreement.
- In the event any of the clauses of the TOS have been violated
- In the event the Registered User has not responded to an inquiry from Atlas or other communication requiring the Registered User’s response for 30 days or more
- In addition to the above, in the event Atlas has determined that the use of the Services, registration as a Registered User, or continuation of the Service use agreement is not appropriate
11: Governing Laws and Jurisdiction
The laws of Japan will govern the use of the Services, and the Tokyo District Court or Tokyo Summary Court will be the court of exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance for all disputes that arise in relation to the Services.
12: Resolution through Discussion
Any matter not stipulated in the TOS, or any question that arises concerning interpretation of the TOS, shall be promptly resolved upon mutual discussions in good faith between Atlas and the User.
